Household Tasks

Wellness Ability Solutions provide support to NDIS participants who require assistance with daily household tasks that they are unable to perform due to their disability. The aim is to help participants live as independently as possible in their own homes by providing essential household support. These tasks include cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and other activities that maintain a safe, healthy, and well-functioning home environment.

  • Participants who have physical, intellectual, or cognitive disabilities that prevent them from carrying out daily household tasks on their own.
  • Those who need short-term or long-term support in managing household tasks, whether due to temporary limitations (e.g., recovery from surgery) or permanent disabilities.
  • Cleaning and House Maintenance: Assistance with tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and general tidying of the living areas.
  • Meal Preparation: Support with planning, preparing, and cooking meals, which can include help with grocery shopping and ensuring nutritional needs are met according to the participant’s dietary requirements.
  • Laundry: Assistance with washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes, including managing bed linens and other household fabrics.
  • Dishwashing: Helping with cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen appliances.
  • Basic Home Maintenance: Minor home upkeep tasks that the participant cannot manage on their own, such as changing light bulbs, simple repairs, or ensuring that the home is safe and accessible.
  • Support with Home Organization: Helping participants organize their living spaces to create a functional, safe, and accessible environment that meets their needs.
  • Individualized Support: The service is customized to meet the specific needs of the participant, taking into account their level of ability, preferences, and household setup.
  • In-home Support: Support workers or domestic assistants will typically come to the participant’s home to assist with these tasks. The frequency and duration of support depend on the participant’s NDIS plan and assessed needs.
  • Training for Independence: In some cases, the support may also involve teaching the participant how to perform certain household tasks independently or with minimal support, fostering greater independence over time.
  • Health and Safety: Support workers ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe manner, considering any specific risks related to the participant’s disability.
  • Increased Independence: By receiving help with household tasks, participants can focus on other areas of their lives, such as personal development, work, or social activities, without being burdened by tasks they struggle to perform.
  • Improved Quality of Life: A clean, safe, and organized living environment promotes better mental and physical well-being, reducing stress and enhancing overall comfort.
  • More Time for Personal Goals: With assistance in managing their household, participants can dedicate more time and energy to achieving other personal goals, such as education, socialization, or hobbies.

Wellness Ability Solutions support ensures that participants can maintain a safe, clean, and organized home environment, contributing to their overall independence, comfort, and quality of life.
