Wellness Ability Solutions plan to provide this service is to assist participants in getting to and from places they need to go, like our venues, workplaces, social events, and other activities critical to their independence and wellbeing.
- This service is for participants who cannot use public transport due to their disability or require additional assistance for safe and reliable travel arrangements.
- Participants may include individuals with physical disabilities, cognitive impairments, or mobility challenges that restrict their ability to independently access transportation.
- Personal Transport Assistance: Support workers may assist participants by driving them to various locations or helping them use private or public transport services.
- Transport Coordination: Arranging and coordinating transportation services, such as booking rides or ensuring accessible transportation options are available.
- Travel Training: Teaching participants how to use public transport independently if they can, which may involve learning to navigate routes, understand timetables, and use transport safely.
- Transport Funding: Participants may receive funding to cover costs related to taxis, ride-sharing services, or special transport needs where public transport is not suitable.
- Assistance with travel/transport can be provided by a support worker, or through funding allocated in the participant’s NDIS plan to cover transport costs.
- The support can be provided on a regular basis, such as for daily commutes, or on an ad-hoc basis for specific appointments or events.
A participant with a cognitive impairment may need a support worker from us to accompany them on public transport to ensure they safely reach to our venues. Wellness Ability Solution helps ensure that participants can maintain their independence, engage with their community, and access essential services without being hindered by their transportation needs.
