0102 Assistance to Access and Maintain Employment or Higher Education

With previous years (Since 2016) working experience and connection with the employment support,  we are confident in support participants in achieving their employment or educational goals. This service helps individuals with disabilities prepare for, find, and sustain employment or access and participate in higher education. It addresses the specific challenges that participants may face in these areas and provides tailored support to enhance their independence, skills, and ability to engage in meaningful work or education.

We assist NDIS participants in obtaining and retaining employment or accessing and maintaining participation in higher education (such as university, TAFE, or other vocational training programs)

  • Participants who have disabilities that make it difficult to access, secure, or maintain employment or participate in higher education.
  • Individuals who need assistance in developing work-related skills or navigating the educational system due to physical, intellectual, or cognitive impairments.
  • Career Planning and Employment Preparation:
  1. Assistance in exploring job opportunities, developing a resume, and preparing for interviews.
  2. Support in identifying career goals and creating a plan to achieve them, which may include job training or skill development.

 

  • Workplace Assistance:
  1. On-the-job support to help participants adjust to the workplace, including assistance with work-related tasks or navigating workplace relationships.
  2. Support in understanding and managing workplace responsibilities, ensuring participants can meet job expectations.

 

  • Job Coaching and Mentorship:
  1. Ongoing support from a job coach or mentor who helps participants adjust to their role, overcome challenges, and develop long-term employment skills.
  2. Providing feedback and strategies for managing workload, interactions with colleagues, and workplace routines.

 

  • Skill Development:
  1. Building key skills that are required for specific job roles, such as communication, problem-solving, or technical abilities related to the job.
  2. Providing assistance with time management, organisation, and other soft skills to help participants excel in the workplace or in their studies.

 

  • Educational Support:
  1. Assisting participants in accessing higher education programs by helping them navigate the application and enrolment process, including accessing accommodations or supports through their educational institution.
  2. Support with study skills, time management, and organisation to ensure participants can successfully complete their coursework.
  3. Assistance with accessing learning aids, technology, or adaptive equipment to help participants succeed in their studies.

 

  • Access to Resources and Networks:
  1. Connecting participants to local employment services, higher education institutions, or vocational training programs.
  2. Providing information and support for accessing disability services or accommodations within the workplace or educational setting.

 

  • Travel Support:
  1. Assisting participants with navigating public transport or arranging alternative transport options to get to work or educational facilities.
  • Tailored Support: The assistance provided is customised to the participant’s specific needs, abilities, and career or education goals. Whether short-term or long-term support, the focus is on building the participant’s capacity to work or study independently.
  • One-on-One or Group Support: Depending on the participant’s needs, the service can be provided one-on-one or in a group setting, such as through workshops or peer mentoring.
  • In-Work or In-Education Assistance: Participants may receive ongoing support after they start a job or begin their education to ensure they can successfully adjust and manage any challenges they face.
  • Increased Independence: By developing the skills needed to access and succeed in employment or higher education, participants can become more independent and achieve greater self-reliance.
  • Career and Educational Advancement: Participants gain the tools and support necessary to pursue meaningful career paths or academic achievements that align with their personal goals.
